Readings and In-Class Presentations (20%)

Readings must be completed by the day they are listed in the schedule.

We will begin each day with a discussion of the days readings. See specific infomation about In-Class Presentations. Several times throughout the block, you will lead a class discussion about the assigned readings by raising questions, misconceptions, and insights.

During week 1, you will be investigating Colorado Springs (see specific information about "Surveying the Lay of the Land") and you will give a presentation to the class on your findings.

Proposal Presentation (30%)

See specific information for Proposal Presentations. You will be presenting your project proposal to a PUBLIC FORUM during the evening of Monday, November 19. We will be inviting all of your sponsors and members of the Colorado Springs community. We will be conducting practice presentations onMonday morning, 9 am to noon. Practice presentations are MANDATORY. An "A" presentation will include but is not limited to the guidelines listed in Proposal Presentations.

Written Proposal (30%)

See specific information for Proposal Guidelines. An "A" paper will include but is not limited to the guidelines outlined by the CC Writing Center (and resources therein). Please revise your paper with the CC Writing Center well before the paper is due.

Participation (20%)

Our definition of participation includes but is not limited to: Contributing worthwhile and interesting comments to class discussion, answering questions in class, contributing to the success of group work, collegiality with peers, contributing oral and written work to project and presentation.

Grading:

Grades will be assinged as follows:
90-100 A, 80-89 B, 70-79 C, 60-69 D, 0-59 forget it.
