The grades in this course will be based on a series of tasks, some of which you will do independently, and some in groups of four.  These "labors", like those of Hercules, will include a range of experiences, e.g. papers, tests, labs, in-class discussions and presentations, and a final project.  The goals of this course include giving you some experience using different parts of your brain while providing historical and scientific perspective, so these tasks will attempt to challenge you in multiple ways.  An individual breakdown of the percent contribution to the total grade and when items are due may be found in the weekly syllabi.  The factors that will be evaluated for each of them may be found in the instructions provided in the appropriate link.

Tests (2): 30%  -  Paper: 15%  -   In Class/Group Discussions (Daily): 10%
Final Project (1): 15%  -   Labs (3): 20%  -  Attendance/E-journals (Daily): 10%
