Things to Consider When Buying a Computer

The General Services Administration (GSA) is a governmental run on-line ordering system for energy-efficient computers. Before purchasing be sure that your model will qualify for the ENERGY STAR label. This label will insure that your computer meets efficiency recommendations. The ENERGY STAR Web site also provides a list of verified models.
 

Although they are more expensive Laptops use up to one-tenth the amount of energy of a Desktop.
 

Looking for a desktop? Save space and one-third the energy when you buy a flat screen.
 

Make sure that your computer has power-saving devices (i.e. Hibernate and Sleep options) and that they are enabled by your supplier or installer.
 

The lifespan, as well as the disposal of your computer, must be taken into consideration when determining what computer to purchases.
