MicroCase is the statistical package used by the
Sociology Department because it is sooo user-friendly and has a huge
data archive (see the Available Data Sets page)
MicroCase is located on the Student
Server: Student1 (F)

The College also supports four other statistical
packages:
- SPSS is the statistical package used by the
Psychology Department. It is also the most widely used statistical package
used in the the wider academic community. It is less easy to use than
MicroCase, but graduate programs will probably use it.
SPSS is located on the Student Server: Student1(G)
- SAS is the statistical package used by the
Economics Department.
SAS is located on the Student Server: Student 1 (G)
- MINITAB is the statistical package used by the
Mathematics Department to teach its MA117 Probability and
Statistical Classes. It is very easy to use, but is
appropriate only for small data sets.
- EXCEL is the statistical package used by the
Business Office and other administrative offices on campus. It
is part of the Microsoft Office Suite. While its statistical
analysis capabilities are quite limited, it has wonderful graphics
and table options.
EXCEL is available through the Programs menu attached to the
Microsoft Start button in the lower left corner of your screen.
