Topics: Tecnhique of Integration: Trigonometric Integrals. Polar Coordinates. 
Quiz Five: Substitution Method. Integration of functions on the table on page 402. 
 

 

Tuesday  
To Prepare: Recall the geometric series.
Sections Covered: Sections 7.1, 11.8, 11.9
Topics: A look ahead: Fourier series.  Technique of integration: Integration by parts. Writing functions as combinations of power functions.
Homework Five: due today at 5:00 p.m.

 

Wednesday  
To Prepare: Bring a pillowcase and a sleeping bag.
Sections Covered: Sections 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 7.3
Topics: Introduction to Differential Equations. Direction Fields. Separable Equations. The equation for a hanging chain. Trigonometric substitution.

Topics: Exponential Growth. The Logistic model for population growth. Predator Prey relationships.  Improper integrals. The integral test.

Sections Covered: Sections 11.3, 11.4, 11.5, 11.6
Topics: Summary of convergence tests. Power series and Taylor formulae
