Topic: Your paragraph / essay should cover some of the following points:

John Napier invented logarithms. What calculation advantage did this give him? What were the calculations he was making, and why were they important? Why did he want a better method for carrying out those calculations? What about modern applications of the logarithm?  How does the logarithm interact with the exponential function?

This assignment is due on the morning after the quiz was due, and should be 300 - 400 words long, not including any equations / diagrams you might want to include.
