2 to 3 pages, due Tuesday, 09/06/11 (the second day of the block)
This is an opportunity for you to write something not very long about a subject you know well: yourself. Tell us something about yourself as a student of the liberal arts. Recall that the Liberal Arts consist of the Trivium (what you need to express yourself clearly and persuasively): Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric, and the Quadrivium (an introduction to the numerical arts): Arithmetic, Geometry, Astronomy, and Music. Have you studied some of these already? All of them? None of them? What courses did you take that had something to do with the Renaissance (languages, history, science, art, etc.)? What do you want to pursue more thoroughly at CC, the Humanities, Social Sciences, or Sciences? Do you know what your major might be?
Some other the things you might want to discuss: What do you do for fun? Give us some details--if reading is your thing, what sort of books do you read, what authors are your favorites? What sort of work have you done outside of schoolwork? Do you participate in sports, dance, theater, choir [100 extra micropoints on any chorister paper Dick grades!]?
