Group Work Assignments for MA129

General guidelines:

Your group should work together to solve all of the problems.  You will turn in a single write-up of the problems, with all group members' names on it.  I will grade these not simply on whether the answers are correct, but on the clarity of the work.  Assume that the reader doesn't know what the question is, and is skeptical about your ability to solve it.  Begin with a statement of the problem.  Clearly identify all variables, and include a sketch if useful.  The solution should proceed step-by-step, with any non-obvious steps justified.  Include enough "explanatory text" as you go along to convince someone from our class who got a different answer that you are right.  This is especially important on problems that consist of justifying some given formula.

What you turn in should represent a final draft, written up carefully after you've figured out all the steps involved in solving the problem.
