A high-rise residential area at Evry. All the new-town design themes are represented: an interesting art pattern in the paved walkways, a characteristic street light, and vegetation in raised planters. The architect has worked to make the buildings more interesting (this is not a glass and metal box) by angling the outside walls and using multiple surfaces and colors on the outside walls. |
This is a close-up of the many textures used to provide
variety in the appearance of the outer walls. |
Another residential section at Evry. Stacking residents in high-density housing saves land that can be used for public facilities, such as pedestrian walks, parks, athletic fields, and open space (undeveloped fields and woods). |
