To Prepare: Read  Chapter Sixteen
Quiz Four: Chance Error (chapter 6) and probability questions from chapter 13 and 14.
Phase I of the project is due.   
 
Tuesday  
Sections Covered: Chapter Eighteen: The normal approximation for probability histograms and the Central Limit Theorem.  Chapter Twenty: The expected value and the standard error in sampling. Correcting for the replacement/non-replacement issue. The Gallup poll.  
To Prepare: Read chapter seventeen and eighteen
Quiz Five: Chapter 16 and 17: Box Models. Expected Value and Standard Error.

Sections Covered: Chapter Twenty One Confidence intervals for a percentage Chapter Twenty Three: Confidence intervals for an average. Discussion of the ideas behind hypothesis testing (the subject matter in chapters twenty six to twenty eight).
