OECD Patent Set
This site provides links to a technology concordance commissioned in 2001 by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development. The conclusion was a concordance defined using the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) system, aggregated to a relatively large number of sectors. The formulation is identical to that of the Yale Technology Concordance, so for details on the mechanics, readers are advised to visit the Johnson-Evenson Patent Set (JEPS).
The most recent version of the OECD Technology Concordance (OTC) is downloadable from the OECD website, along with instructions for its use in a simple format that will run on any system with MS-DOS (or Windows, Win95 or Win98) operating systems. An Excel macro is provided to help format the YTC output into invention input-output tables. The only input data required from the user is a list of patent counts by their IPC categories. For help with installation, or to verify/amend the aggregation of sectors, please read the "readme" file included in the zipped package.
