I graduated with my Ph.D. in May, 2000 from the University of Kansas
under the direction of Craig Huneke. I was a
Clay Mathematics Institute Liftoff
mathematician for Summer 2000, I recently completed three years as a
VIGRE Postdocal Fellow at Rutgers University, and now I am faculty at St. Olaf
College in Minnesota.
My main interest is commutative algebra. Including properties of initial
ideals of prime ideals, computing integral closure and more recently I've begun
thinking about Gorenstein dimension, local cohomology and D-modules. I am working on Macaulay2
(I implemented integral closure of affine reduced rings and I am working on
an alternate algorithm. I am also assisting with the
documentation) and I am interested in combinatorics and algebraic geometry.
